Agartala, July 31 -- Tripura government directed the contractors to rebuild a few stretches of NH 108B Kamalpur-Khowai-Agartala at their own cost, as the poor-quality construction on several stretches led to serious deterioration in surface transport communication in the state recently.

The state Public Works Department (PWD) Secretary Kiran Gitte said that the substandard portions of the highway will be reconstructed at the contractors' expense, without imposing additional financial burden on the government.
