Agartala, Jan. 21 -- Tripura government has awarded the esteemed Tripura Bibhushan, the highest State Civil Award, posthumously to the distinguished educationist Dhirendra Chandra Dutta.
Tripura Bhushan award was posthumously conferred on the former Speaker of the Tripura Legislative Assembly, Biswabandhu Sen, who passed away following an extended period of hospitalization last month, along with the renowned screenplay writer Biplab Goswami, on Wednesday during the Statehood Day celebrations.
Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha, while presenting these honours, reflected on the historical journey of Tripura over the past 54 years since it achieved statehood in 1972.
