Agartala, Aug. 30 -- Tripura emerged as the top-performing state along with Assam among small and medium energy-consuming states across India in the State Energy Efficiency Index (SEEI) 2024, which was released by the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) recently, officials said here today.
BEE assessed the energy efficiency performance of 36 Indian states and union Territories for 2023-24. The assessment revealed that Tripura's energy consumption was less than one Million Tonnes of Oil Equivalent (MToE), while Assam's consumption ranged from 1 to 5 MToE.
Both states have been recognised as top performers in their respective groups, reflecting strong on-the-ground implementation of energy efficiency measures being undertaken by BEE. SEEI 202...
