Agartala, March 18 -- Tripura Legislative Assembly unanimously passed a resolution to reschedule the elections for Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (ADC) from April 23 to 12, just a day after the initial announcement.
The decision to reschedule the elections was made in light of multiple festivals coinciding with the original election date.
During the zero-hour discussion, Congress MLA and former Minister Sudip Roy Barman raised concerns about the clash of electoral dates with significant cultural celebrations, including Buisu, other indigenous festivals, and the Bengali New Year.
