Agartala, July 22 -- A special NDPS court in Sabroom of South Tripura sentenced two persons to 10 years of rigorous imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 1 lakh each after they were found guilty in a drug peddling case.
The convicted persons have been identified as Abhijit Das (28) and Subrata Das (23) of Sabroom. The report said that the case stems from an event that took place on April 22, 2023. A police patrol stopped a motorcycle near Mahendranath Tilla along the Sabroom-Baishnabpur road at night.
The motorcycle riders allegedly tried to escape when they disregarded police signals to pull over, but the officers were able to catch them after a chase. Upon searching, the police found 10.11 grams of heroin and 77 Yaba tablets on the moto...
