Kolkata, Oct. 16 -- With the Election Commission of India expected to soon issue a notification for the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in West Bengal, the Trinamool Congress (TMC) is preparing a strong response.
The party plans to launch a major protest rally in Kolkata following the conclusion of the festive season, which includes Kali Puja, Diwali, and Bhai Phonta (Bhai Dooj).
According to party sources, the rally is likely to be held in the first week of November.
It will be headlined by West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and TMC general secretary and Lok Sabha MP Abhishek Banerjee.
