Bengaluru, Nov. 7 -- In the wake of a series of tiger attacks in southern Karnataka, Forest Minister Eshwar B Khandre on Friday ordered an immediate suspension of trekking activities in forest zones prone to human-wildlife conflicts and directed the closure of safaris in Nagarhole and Bandipur Tiger Reserves until further notice.
The directive follows the death of 35-year-old Choudaiah Naik in a tiger attack near Hale Heggodilu village in the Moleyur range of Saragur taluk, Mysuru district, earlier on Friday.
