Mumbai, July 20 -- The Government Railway Police (GRP) have registered a case against two transgender persons for allegedly assaulting a passenger inside a Mumbai suburban train following an argument over seeking money, after a video of the incident went viral on social media, an official said here on Monday.

Police said the case has been registered under Section 115(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), and further investigation is underway.

The incident came to light after a video purportedly showing a youth being slapped and punched by two transgender persons inside a moving local train surfaced online on July 19, triggering widespread concern over the safety of commuters on Mumbai's suburban railway network.
