Panchkula, June 23 -- Haryana Police has intensified its battle against traffic indiscipline, illegal encroachments and unsafe roads, booking more than 1,070 violators, clearing public spaces occupied illegally and rushing accident victims to hospitals in a series of operations that underline the growing pressure on the state's urban infrastructure.

The crackdown comes amid increasing concerns over traffic congestion, reckless driving and road safety in Haryana's rapidly expanding cities, where authorities say a large number of accidents and traffic jams are linked to violations that many motorists continue to treat casually.
