New Delhi, Feb. 26 -- On the eve of Holi this year, a total lunar eclipse will occur on March 3, offering a celestial spectacle for skywatchers, though most parts of India will miss witnessing the event.

The total lunar eclipse will begin at 16:34 IST and last for nearly an hour. However, the phenomenon will largely take place before moonrise across India, making it invisible from most regions of the country. Only a few locations in the North-East and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, including Agartala, Aizwal, Dibrugarh, among others, may briefly witness the later stages of the eclipse with moonrise occurring approximately around 17:00 hours.
