Bengaluru, Sept. 2 -- Top seed Tejas Ravi turned an earlier setback into a statement victory, overcoming compatriot Amrit Dhankar 6-3, 5-7, 6-1 to storm into the quarterfinals of the KSLTA World Tennis Tour Junior J30 Bengaluru at the SM Krishna Tennis Stadium here on Wednesday.
The 17-year-old, who trains at Transform Academy and studies at Jain Sports School, had lost to Amrit in a school tournament in Pollachi. The rematch offered Tejas an opportunity to settle the score, and he seized it on the international junior stage.
Tejas made an explosive start, breaking Amrit in the opening game and racing to a 5-1 lead. Although Amrit pulled one break back, Tejas held firm to take the first set 6-3.
