Bhubaneswar, June 23 -- Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Tuesday increased the ex gratia relief for the families of Odia workers who lost their lives in the ammonia gas leak mishap at Tiruvallur in Tamil Nadu from Rs 4 lakh to Rs 10 lakh each.
At least seven workers, all from Odisha, have lost their lives so far at the private industrial unit in Tiruvallur district of Tamil Nadu, where an ammonia gas leak occurred on 21 June.
Expressing profound grief over the tragic incident, the Chief Minister extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and prayed for strength to help them cope with the irreparable loss.
