Chennai, April 28 -- Creating a record of sorts, Tamil Nadu has for the second successive year recorded double digit economic growth, surpassing the National average, with Chief Minister M K Stalin attributing this progreess was powered by the people of the state and thanked them.

The State has posted a growth rate of 10.83 per cent for the year 2025-26, recording double digit for a second straightnyear followng it up with 11.9 per cent in 2024-25.

It was not clear whether TN's record growth of 10.83 per cent was the highest for 2025-26 as the data for 11 states, including Kerala, Uttar Pradesh and Punjab, was not yet released by the union Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation.
