Chennai, March 16 -- With the poll machinery getting activated following announcement of the Tamil Nadu poll schedule, Chief Electoral Officer Ms Archana Patnaik on Monday said a totl 4,200 surveillance teams including 2,106 squads were formed and they seized Rs 1.26 crore of unaccounted money and jewellery seized so far.
Talking to reporters ahead of the April 23 polls, she said money being carried by people will not be confiscated if it is accompanied by proper documentation.
She said the surveillance teams and flying squads will be deployed across the State to monitor campaign activities, including expenditure, in accordance with the model code of conduct.
