Chennai, Feb. 28 -- With the Assembly elections fast approaching, the ruling DMK-led Front in Tamil Nadu inked seat sharing pactwith two Muslim outfits, Indian union Muslim League (IUML) and Manithaneya Makkal Katchi (MMK) allotting two seats each for them on Saturday evening.

The pact was signed by IUML National Presidnet Khader Moideen and MMK leader M H Jawahiruallh, MLA, with DMK President andChief Minister M K Stalin at the DMK headquarters 'Anna Arivalayam' after holding second round of talks with them.

The IUML, which had contested three seats in the 2021 elections and drew a blank, had sought five seats, if not four, but the DMK hadsaid that it could allot only two, citing the presence of new allies in the Front.
