Police have registered a murder case after the main Opposition termed it a murder. Three people, including the son of a DMK functionary, were arrested for killing the Assistant Labour Welfare Inspector.
Police identified the deceased as Sivamoorthi (54), resident of Annai Aravindar Nagar.
His son Kirubakaran, daughter-in-law Amsavalli, and granddaughter Nilani sustained grievous injuries in the incident and are undergoing treatment at the Hosur Government Hospital.
