Chennai, Feb. 17 -- Tamil Nadu Finance Minister Thangam Thenarasu today presented a Rs 48,696.32 crore revenuedeficit.
Presenting the the Interim Budget for 2026-27 on the opening day of the Budget session in in the state assembly , he saidthe Revenue expenditure is estimated at Rs.3,93,271.63 crore in 2026-27, which shows an increase of 3.79 per cent over2025-26.
It is projected to be Rs.4,29,413.50 crore in 2027-28 and Rs.4,69,402.37 crore in 2028-29.
Stating that the Revenue Deficit for 2026-27 was estimated at Rs.48,696.32 crore, the Minister said in view of the revenueaugmentation measures including improvement in tax administration and collection efficiency, the Revenue Deficit is expectedto reduce to Rs.42,964.61 crore in 2027-28 ...
