Chennai, June 18 -- The Tamil Nadu government will completely eliminate administrative malpractices that prevailed earlier and carry out structural reforms in the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments (HR and CE) department, Governor R V Arlekar announced in the State Assembly on Thursday.

Delivering his maiden customary address to the House on the first day of the first session of the new TVK government headed by Chief Minister Vijay, the Governor said the Government will ensure that all movable and immovable assets of the temples are used solely for their sacred purposes.
