Chennai, July 29 -- Amid demands for implementation of Total prohibition, which gain prominence especially at the time of elections and the PMK pitching for it through a resolution at its General Council meeting on Wednesday, the Tamil Nadu governmentis mulling privatisation of TASMAC, the state-run liquor monoply for over two decades.

The move is currently under active discussion with the government planning to introduce amendments to prohibition and excise laws during the upcoming Assembly session.
