Bengaluru/New Delhi, July 30 -- Karnataka Chief Minister DK Shivakumar on Thursday said Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay had expressed willingness to resolve the long-standing Cauvery water dispute through negotiations, even as Karnataka decided to challenge the latest water release directive before the Cauvery Management Authority (CMA).
Speaking to reporters in New Delhi, Shivakumar said the Tamil Nadu government had conveyed its interest in holding discussions on the Cauvery issue. He said the Tamil Nadu Chief Secretary had written to the Karnataka government and also spoken to him over the phone regarding the matter.
"The Tamil Nadu Chief Minister is keen on finding a solution to the Cauvery issue through dialogue," Shivakumar said.
