Thiruvananthapuram, Aug. 21 -- Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Joseph Vijay has assured Kerala Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan that the State government will consider exempting Kerala from the restrictions imposed on the movement of construction materials, including metal, to other States.
Satheesan raised the issue during his meeting with the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister on the sidelines of the Southern Zonal Council meeting held at Mahabalipuram on Thursday.
The Kerala Chief Minister pointed out the special circumstances faced by Kerala and urged Tamil Nadu to reconsider the restrictions, particularly in view of the State's dependence on construction materials from neighbouring Tamil Nadu.
