Chennai, Aug. 6 -- Tamil Nadu Agriculture Minister R.Vinoth on Thursday presented the first Agriculture Budget of the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) government in the State Assembly, outlining a detailed roadmap to strengthen the state's farming sector.
Emphasising the importance of the sector, he said agriculture remains the backbone of the economy and keeping this in mind the nudget for the year 2026-27 was replete with numerous pioneering schemes designed to meet farmers' needs to the extent possible, align with scientific advancements in agriculture and ensure their prosperity by enabling them to secure fair prices for their produce.
