Kolkata, Aug. 17 -- The legal battle over Trinamool Congress programmes has now extended to the Trinamool Chhatra Parishad's (TMCP) foundation day rally, with the Kalighat faction approaching the Calcutta High Court seeking permission to hold its annual programme on August 28.
The matter was brought to the court's attention on Monday by counsel for the Kalighat camp, Arka Kumar Nag, who alleged that the police had failed to respond to repeated applications seeking permission for the rally.
The matter is likely to come up for an urgent hearing before Justice Saugata Bhattacharyya on Wednesday.
