Kolkata, March 18 -- West Bengal's ruling Trinamool Congress on Wednesday wrote to the Chief Election Commissioner seeking action against former state BJP president Dilip Ghosh for "threatening" the people residing in south Kolkata's Kalighat and Chetla areas.

The TMC missive also accused Ghosh, who is contesting the upcoming Asssembly polls from Kharagpur Sadar constituency, of flouting the Model Code of Conduct (MCC).

Ghosh made the statement after a clash between BJP and TMC workers on Chittaranjan Avenue in Central Kolkata on Saturday when Narendra Modi was addressing a rally at the nearby Brigade Parade ground.
