Shillong, Oct. 11 -- Former Chief Minister and leader of Opposition in the Meghalaya Assembly, Dr Mukul Sangma has held the Conrad Sangma-led government accountable for the repeated atrocities against children in the state.

His remarks came amid growing concerns over a spike in violence, and in the wake of the recent murders and rape of a 7-year-old boy and 13-year-old girl in the state.

"If this vicious environment is allowed to continue, it will become a breeding ground for criminal minds and the consequences will be dangerous," the TMC legislator warned.
