Kolkata, March 5 -- : The ruling Trinamool Congress on Thursday targeted the Centre following the sudden resignation of C. V. Ananda Bose, with state minister Chandrima Bhattacharya alleging that he may have been pressured by the union government over issues related to the upcoming Assembly elections.

Bhattacharya directly questioned whether Bose was forced to step down for not agreeing to the alleged push by union Home Minister Amit Shah regarding the imposition of President's rule in the state.
