Kolkata, June 10 -- In a significant development, Trinamool Congress Rajya Sabha MP Sushmita Dev resigned from the Upper House on Wednesday, dealing another blow to the former ruling party of West Bengal amid growing internal turbulence.
Her resignation comes a couple of days after the resignation of senior TMC leader and Rajya Sabha member Sukhendu Sekhar Ray, intensifying concerns over unrest within the party ranks.
Sushmita, daughter of late Congress veteran Santosh Mohan Dev of Assam, had joined the Trinamool Congress in 2021 after leaving the Congress.
