Kolkata, July 2 -- West Bengal BJP president Samik Bhattacharya on Wednesday said the BJP-led state government would focus on rebuilding public confidence in the healthcare system so that patients no longer feel compelled to travel outside West Bengal for medical treatment and healthcare facilities.
Speaking at a programme organised by the BJP's Doctors and Healthcare Workers' Cell to mark National Doctors' Day and the 144th birth anniversary of Dr Bidhan Chandra Ray, Bhattacharya alleged that years of misgovernance under the erstwhile Trinamool Congress (TMC) government in the state had weakened the healthcare system despite the availability of highly qualified medical professionals.
