Tirupati, July 29 -- The Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences (SVIMS) on Wednesday denied reports circulating on social media that several students of Sri Padmavathi Medical College had suffered food poisoning, terming the claims false.

In a statement, SVIMS Medical Superintendent Dr Ram said three students had reported to the institute's Emergency Department during the day with unrelated medical conditions and none of the cases involved food poisoning.

According to the hospital, one student was diagnosed with appendicitis, another with a menstrual-related health condition, while the third was undergoing treatment for high fever.
