Tirupati, Sept. 21 -- Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences (SVIMS), Tirupati, has successfully treated two two-year-old children diagnosed with Wilms tumour, providing comprehensive cancer care through a multidisciplinary approach, SVIMS Director and Vice-Chancellor Dr Gudaru Jagadesh said on Monday.
In the recent case, a two-year-old girl from Rayachoti in Annamayya district was diagnosed with a Wilms tumour involving the right kidney after she was brought to SVIMS with an abdominal mass, Dr Jagadesh said in a release here.
She underwent four cycles of chemotherapy under the Medical Oncology team led by Dr Bhargavi, completed on August 21.
