Kangra, Sept. 20 -- Timely screening and early detection of diabetic retinopathy can significantly improve the chances of preserving vision, experts said at a CME programme organised by SM Eye Hospital here.
Chief Medical Officer Kangra, Padma Shri Dr Umesh Bharti, who was the chief guest, said diabetes affects multiple organs and called for better coordination among medical specialists to prevent its complications.
Retina specialists Dr Aditi Parashar, Dr Kumari Mugdha and Tanda Medical College Associate Professor Dr Manu Sharma discussed screening, advanced treatment methods and management of complicated cases.
