Patna, Aug. 2 -- Bihar Health Minister Nishant Kumar on Sunday said timely identification of congenital heart disease is the most crucial step in saving children''s lives and assured that all children requiring surgery or specialised treatment would receive it free of cost under the state''s Bal Hriday Yojana.
Speaking after visiting a special screening camp organised under the Bal Hriday Yojana at Jayaprabha Medanta Super Speciality Hospital in Patna, Kumar said specialist doctors examined 280 children from 34 districts of the state.
The minister reviewed the arrangements at the camp, interacted with doctors to understand the entire treatment process, and also met children and their family members.
