Ahmedabad, April 21 -- After his maiden IPL century powered Mumbai Indians to a commanding 99- run win over Gujarat Titans at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Monday, Tilak Varma said the key to his innings was spending time in the middle and building it step by step.
Mumbai, coming into the match on the back of four consecutive defeats, needed a strong response and found it through Tilak's unbeaten 101 off 45 balls. His knock helped the side recover from early trouble and post a competitive 199/5, which eventually proved far beyond Gujarat's reach.
