Aizawl, June 14 -- Three elected members of the Chakma Autonomous District Council (CADC) in Mizoram have resigned from the ruling Zoram People's Movement (ZPM) and expressed their intention to join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), further intensifying the prolonged political instability in the autonomous council.

Members of District Council (MDCs) Kalasoga Chakma, Sanjib Chakma and Supan Chakma resigned from the primary membership as well as all organisational posts of the Chakma District Zoram People's Movement (CDZPM), the party's district unit in the CADC.
