Ghazipur, Nov. 10 -- Three youths drowned in the Ganga during a cremation ceremony in UP's Ghazipur district, police said on Monday. The three friends were swept away by the strong current while trying to save one another on Sunday evening, sources said.
The incident took place in the Bahadurganj area under the Kasimabad police station limits. After the cremation of Mahendra Jaiswal, several family members and villagers went to the riverbank for a ritual bath. During this time, three youths, Aditya, Kundan, and Mandol, aged between 18 and 20 years, entered the river.
Tragedy struck when one of them slipped into deep water. The other two jumped in to rescue him, but all three were caught in the river's strong current and disappeared. As so...
