Nizamabad, July 26 -- Three youths drowned and another went missing while swimming in the backwaters of the Sri Ram Sagar Reservoir (SRSP) near Mupkal in Nizamabad district today.
According to preliminary information, five youths had entered the reservoir for a swim when they were swept into deeper waters. One youth managed to swim back to safety, while the remaining four went missing.
Locals launched a rescue effort and recovered the bodies of three youths. Search operations were continuing to trace the fourth missing youth.
Police reached the spot, shifted the bodies for post-mortem examination and launched an investigation into the incident.
