Chennai, Aug. 16 -- Three Tamils were shot dead in a forest area by the Kanrataka Forest Department on charges of alleged poaching and the incident drew strong condemnation in Tamil Nadu, with the PMK terming the encounter as fake and demanded a CBI probe into it, while urging the Tamil Nadu government to condemn it and ensure Karnataka announce a compensation of Rs one crore each to their families.
In a statement here today, PMK President and Rajya Sabha MP Dr. Anbumani Ramadoss said the Karnataka Forest Department's alleged brutal shooting and killing of three local Tamils in a forest area adjoining the Cauvery Wildlife Sanctuary in Chamarajanagar district, Karnataka, on the false allegation that they were hunting deer is condemnable.
