Srinagar, June 26 -- Three strategic power transmission projects linking the remote regions of Zanskar, Nubra and the Siachen Base Camp are set to be completed by September this year, marking a major milestone in strengthening power infrastructure in Ladakh.
The key power infrastructure projects being implemented under the Prime Minister's Development Package (PMDP), will ensure uninterrupted power supply to Zanskar and Nubra up to the Siachen Base Camp, reducing the dependence on diesel generators for electricity, and contributing to the Prime Minister's vision of carbon-neutral Ladakh.
With this achievement, six out of the seven districts in the UT of Ladakh, barring Changthang, will be connected to the power grid.
