Imphal, Oct. 19 -- Manipur has witnessed a series of violent incidents since last night, resulting in the deaths of four civilians and injuries to several others, including CRPF personnel.
On Monday, three villagers, who were felling trees near Hongman Sanurok in Imphal, were shot dead by suspected Kuki militants, while two others were seriously injured.
Police said the villagers tried to bring the mortal remains of the two persons A Ronil and L Inaobi to the CM's residence.
Security forces fired several tear gas shells to disperse the protesters and prevent the situation from deteriorating further.
