Panchkula, June 1 -- In a major breakthrough against an interstate drug trafficking syndicate, the Panchkula Police have arrested three more alleged heroin suppliers from Punjab in connection with the recovery of over three kg of heroin and Rs 15 lakh in suspected drug proceeds.

With these arrests, the total number of accused apprehended in the case has risen to five.

The latest arrests were made by the Crime Branch, Sector-26, Panchkula.

The accused have been identified as Mahinder Singh alias Mindi, Jaswinder Singh alias Chhindi and Rakesh alias Armaan alias Ramesh, all residents of Fazilka district in Punjab.

The trio was arrested on May 23 and was subsequently remanded to eight days of police custody for interrogation.
