Imphal, June 23 -- Three militants were apprehended and a large cache of arms and ammunitions recovered following the arrest of a militant leader in Goa, police said on Tuesday.
Following the arrest of an active cadre of a Manipur based militant outfit from Cuncolim, South Goa by Manipur Police with the assistance of Goa Police, two INSAS Rifles, nine INSAS magazines, two 9 mm Pistols, 163 ammunition rounds of different calibers were seized.
The joint operation in Goa was in connection with earlier search operations held at Chingdompok in Heirok Part II of Thoubal district in Manipur.
Security forces on Tuesday arrested a self-styled Sergeant Major of an outfit from Imphal East district.
