Dharamshala, May 27 -- Vice-Chancellor of Central University of Himachal Pradesh Prof Sat Prakash Bansal on Wednesday said the three-language formula proposed under the National Education Policy (NEP) would strengthen Indian languages and promote national integration.

Addressing a press conference at the university secretariat, Prof Bansal said the policy was aimed at enhancing linguistic knowledge among students and should not be seen as imposing any particular language.

He said learning two Indian languages and one foreign language would widen employment opportunities for students across the country and help strengthen tourism and higher education sectors.
