Chandigarh, Aug. 24 -- Chandigarh Police have detained three people in connection with the alleged recovery of a suspected improvised explosive device (IED) and other materials near the Sector 43 bus stand, officials said, with an investigation underway.
A case has been registered at Sector 36 police station in connection with the suspected IED and weapons-related matter, police said.
The suspected IED and other materials were recovered from the possession of the three detained individuals, according to the police.
Preliminary investigation is looking into the possibility that the material was linked to a plan for a potential terror-related activity in Chandigarh.
