Three dead, four missing, one rescued safely, as car plunges into Ganga

Dehradun, June 2 -- Three persons died while four went missing as an Innova SUV they were travelling in plunged into River Ganga on Tuesday.

Uttarakhand State Disaster Response Force(SDRF) informed that bodies of the three persons, including a woman, were recovered from the Innova vehicle number UK08TA 5433, while one youth was rescued safely even as search for four missing persons was still on by the rescuers.

SDRF in its statement said that the driver lost control over the ill-fated Innova car, leading the vehicle to plunge into a deep gorge and submerge into the Ganga River.

The SDRF statement claimed that eight persons were travelling in the vehicle including the driver and seven others.
