Dharamshala, May 28 -- A three-day Tibetan Cultural Festival began in Dharamshala on Thursday, showcasing Tibetan culture, traditions, art and cuisine. The festival, being organised jointly by the Central Tibetan Administration and the Tibetan Settlement Office, will continue till May 30.
The event has been dedicated to the 90th birth anniversary of the Dalai Lama and also marks nearly 67 years of his residence in Dharamshala, giving the celebrations special significance.
The festival was inaugurated by newly elected Sikyong (President of the Tibetan government-in-exile) Penpa Tsering. A large number of locals and tourists are participating in the celebrations and getting acquainted with Tibetan heritage and traditions.
