Kolkata, Sept. 6 -- The West Bengal government has carried out a three-day statewide cleanliness and dengue prevention drive covering more than 1,600 wards under 128 municipalities across 22 districts, Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari said on Sunday.
The campaign, titled 'Swachhata Sankalp Abhiyan', was organised by the state Urban Development and Municipal Affairs Department amid efforts to check the spread of dengue.
During the three-day drive, 6,065 clogged drains were cleared of silt and garbage, while waste was removed from 1,608 garbage accumulation points and 4,511 roadside locations, according to the details shared by Adhikari on social media.
