Bhagalpur, March 9 -- Three children drowned in the Kosi River early Monday morning, with their bodies later recovered from Mushari Ghat near Hario Maheshpur village under the jurisdiction of Jhanda Pur Police Station.

The victims were identified as 14-year-old Laxman Kumar and Yuvraj Kumar, and 13-year-old Nayan Kumar.

According to police, the boys had gone to bathe in the river along with other children from the village. During the bath, Nayan Kumar accidentally entered a deeper section of the river and began to drown. Yuvraj and Laxman attempted to rescue him but were also caught in the strong current, resulting in all three drowning in the river.
