Kolkata, May 25 -- In perhaps the first case of detention in the state, three Bangladeshi nationals were sent to the newly created 'holding centre' at Lalgola in Murshidabad district on Monday allegedly for infiltrating in the country without valid documents.
The infiltrators were sent to the detention centre just 24 hours after Nabanna issued strict instructions to identify and deport illegal foreign nationals and infiltrators residing in West Bengal.
According to police and administrative sources, the three suspected infiltrators were detained from the Ranitala police station area in Murshidabad district.
Officials said they failed to produce any valid documents permitting their stay in India.
