Agartala, July 11 -- Tripura Human Rights Commission (THRC) has ordered its Investigation Wing to carry out an inquiry into the death of a pregnant woman at the state referral hospital, IGM, noting that there are lingering questions regarding her treatment and the choice not to transfer her to a more advanced medical facility.
THRC Chairman Justice Arindam Lodh took suo motu cognizance of the case following media reports that suggested medical negligence in the death of 33-year-old Bibha Debnath from Baishnab Tilla in Amtali of the city.
