Agartala, May 7 -- Tripura Human Rights Commission (THRC) has expressed serious concern over deficiencies in sanitation, hygiene, and infrastructure of government schools in Agartala and directed the authorities to ensure improvements within the next three months.
A field study conducted by law interns from Tripura Government Law College revealed conditions that may violate students' fundamental rights at Prachya Bharati Higher Secondary School and Bijoy Kumar Girls' Higher Secondary School in the city.
THRC Chairperson Justice Arindam Lodh found that both schools were facing acute financial constraints, which directly affected basic upkeep, including cleanliness, sanitation, and hygiene. The teaching staff was contributing personal funds...
